Gus: Dad, the other night Harley got a call. She was on duty, and it was a trespassing call.

Alan: Oh, that's no problem. I'll just call the owner and have him cleared.

Gus: Well, no, actually you are the owner. (Sighs) Harley caught Daisy and Rafe down at the lake house, and they weren't exactly fishing for trout.

Alan: You mean to tell me that...

Gus: Yes. So I got... I've got to ask you a favor, okay? I don't want you to reward him. You know, don't be throwing him a sports car or a box of cigars or, you know, saying "Hey, what a virile great guy you are." You know, none of that.

Alan: Keys to the east wing.

Gus: What am I supposed to do with these?

Alan: Lock him up. We've got trouble, son.

Gus: We always have trouble when you call me son.

Alan: A Spaulding male is like a stallion. Once he leaves the gate...

Gus: You're kidding me with this speech, right?

Jeffrey: Well, you bailed the minute that Alan Spaulding made an appearance, so what did he say?

Reva: You know, you are one suspicious guy.

Jeffrey: Well, I get paid to be suspicious.

Reva: Yeah, well, you know what? I... I didn't want to tell anybody this but... they came.

Jeffrey: They came? Who came?

Reva: They came. They brought a very large pod and it was slimy, and then Alan burst out of it. Only it was a new Alan so I had to teach it how to smoke cigars and teach it to make threats, and they took the old, used-up Alan back to outer space with them.

Jeffrey: That's pretty good, actually.

Reva: Thank you.

Jeffrey: And actually, that story makes more sense than the other one you're trying to sell me.

Ashlee: You can think you know someone and then you don't and... so I don't think it's quite fair to say so-and-so doesn't deserve to be with so-and-so.

Alan: And the so-and-so in your life is Henry Bradshaw? Your mother doesn't think that he's in your league, does she?

Ashlee: Well, that's why we love Doris.

Alan: Well, she couldn't be more wrong, because I know what's inside of you. You're a very strong young lady.

Ashlee: Not always.

Alan: Yes. You have strength and courage, and if anyone tells you differently, ignore them.
