Week Ending Friday, Jan. 27, 2006
||On the box for this week…Why all the fuss for Gus? Lizzie pulls the
cashmere over Coops eyes. Sandy is up to something, and Inside the Light with
Bradley and Nicole.
This week still left much to be desired in the way of the pace that the show is
going these days. Seemingly trying to make the fans of GL believe that Gus may
actually be dead, the writers have done nothing more than cool the jets off of
what was once GL fans most favorite romance. Now, when these two finally do
reunite I will truly not give a rat’s behind! Must every episode show a strong
Harley desperately trying to balance being the CEO of a major Company, an
amazing mother, and the backbone of her family as well as devoted wife and still
savvy cop? Obviously Gus is alive as by the end of the week they were
advertising for next weds. “Inside the Light” with a very much alive Gus. So
stop stringing us along and end this already! My sources tell me that there is a
very unexpected twist as to who is responsible for the disappearance of Gus and
Alan so stay tuned for that!
What is Lizzie doing? Is she so naïve to possibly think that whatever she is
doing with Quinn makes even the least bit of sense? I was excited for the
possibilities of Lizzie and Coop in the beginning. Happy for her that someone
was actually interested in her without being manipulated or lied to, now I am
feeling betrayed as I watch her basically become a whore for this Quinn dude in
exchange for money, clothes and penthouse apartments. Whatever Lizzie screw it
up if u must Ava is waiting to clean up the pieces. I have read a lot of
opinions from others about Ava mostly negative, but I personally think the girl
is adorable, fun and lovable and a perfect match for Coop as well as worthy to
hang with the entire Cooper clan.
OK Sandy we get it “You’re over Tammy” except not so much. Obviously the man is
up to something. My thought is he will do something very crazy/illegal to end
his role as the Sandman and have to flee Springfield never to be seen or heard
from again. But some of that is wishful thinking on my part. I’m starting to get
tired of Jonathan jacking Sandy up against a wall every time he sees him. I’m
not sure what this accomplishes short of showing us how easily ticked off
Jonathan still gets. But I tell you it does make creepy Sandy look much better
and more mature than Jonathan. With the pace this storyline is going hopefully
we will have some resolution before next year.
This week’s “Inside the Light” featured Cassie and Jeffrey O’neil. What I
appreciated from this show was the history it delved into. Some newer Guiding
Light fans may have been a little confused to know just how deeply the lineage
of Prince Richard really goes. I loved when Reva asks Jeffrey if he was ever
“Richard” with her and he replies no that she will not be able to put Jonathan
on him! That was good, as I did begin to speculate Jeff’s big secret was perhaps
that he fathered Jonathan or something to that extent…No such luck. There’s
really not much more to say than that the acting was so, so. It was nice to see
Richard in all of his glory again. I found it hilarious that Cassie and Tammy
flew to San Cristobel at the last minute for what seemed like maybe a total of 3
or 4 hours. I thought the day in Paris with Alan-Michael and Marina was bad but
that definitely takes the cake! So far I am not appreciating Nicole Forester’s
portrayal as NuCassie, she is focusing way to much on being all high and mighty
and holier than thou and leaving much in the way of doubt as to how anyone could
fall so deeply in love with her. There needs to be more of a realness and a
vulnerability that comes with being Cassie. The do as I say not as I do
mentality that Laura Wright perfected when dealing with Tammy is missing.
NuCassie’s all about the “I make no mistakes therefore I rule the world”. It’s
hard to stomach and extremely annoying. I hope to see that change very soon.
That’s it for this week. Till next time..
