Stay tuned here for news of General Hospital: Night Shift!
Antonio Sabato Jr. (ex-Jagger) has a
new reality show, "My Antonio", on VH1.
Billy Dee Williams appeared on General Hospital as Toussaint in June, 2009.
"Night Shift" Canceled? Word is that the popular Night Shift will not be
returning to SOAPnet for a third season. No particular reason has been
given, but one possibility is budgetary. The other possibility is that
certain projects are on hold pending the upcoming threatened actors' strike.
ABC/SOAPNET has issued an apology for a heartbreaking mistake made in the
October 14, 2008 episode where Toussaint studied a photo of his long-lost
son. The prop photo chosen was that of 6-year-old Christopher Barrios, who
was kidnapped and murdered in 2007. SOAPnet will be running PSAs to raise
awareness about missing and exploited children and will permanently edit out
the photo from the episode.
The second season of General Hospital: Night Shift premiered
on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 11:00 p.m ET on SOAPnet with an episode entitled
"Crash." ABC Daytime President Brian Frons said the plots were synched with GH this time. A new set of writers and producers
handled Season 2 led by new executive producer Lisa de Cazotte (former executive producer of Passions) and head writer Sri Rao.
The cast included
Antonio Sabāto, Jr. (Jagger Cates), Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio), Kimberly
McCullough (Dr. Robin Scorpio), Jason Thompson (Dr. Patrick Drake), Sonya Eddy
(Epiphany Johnson), Adam Grimes (Dr. Kyle Julian), Carrie Southworth (Dr. Claire
Simpson; ex-Gwen, GH), Billy Dee Williams (Touissant Dubois), Ethan Rains (Dr.
Leo Julian), and Azita Ghanizada (Dr. Saira Batra; ex-Zach, Y&R).
General Hospital: Night Shift is set during the night shift at General Hospital and delves deeper into the relationships, friendships and medical cases seen at the hospital.
Robert Guza Jr., head writer for General Hospital and Jill Farren Phelps, executive producer, General Hospital wrote and executive produced General Hospital: Night Shift.
The stellar cast was headed up by the iconic Billy Dee Williams, Steve Burton, Kimberly McCullough, and Jason Thompson.
Season One Aired from Thursday, July 12, 2007 to October 4, 2007.
