Passions Stars to Days! Eric Martsolf (ex-Ethan, PASSIONS) is set to
take over the role of Brady Black in November, while his former co-star,
Galen Gering (ex-Luis, PASSIONS) has been cast as an FBI agent who will
interact with Sami. Gering will debut in late October and Martsolf will
debut in mid-November.

The show is getting an infusion of passion. Galen Gering (ex-Luis,
PASSIONS) and Eric Martsolf (ex-Ethan, PASSIONS) are slated to join the cast
this fall. Gering will portray an FBI agent who comes to Salem working on a
special case and will be involved with Sami (and share scenes with Nicole).
His first airdate is 10/31. Meanwhile, Martsolf is taking on the recast
role of Brady. The character is currently in drug rehab in Europe.
Martsolf will first air in mid-November.

Nicole to EJ: I’m Pregnant! While one woman, Sami, is determined to keep
her pregnancy a secret from EJ, another, Nicole, delivers her own baby
bombshell to him this week. John convinces Nicole that EJ deserves to know
the truth, so Nicole goes looking for him. Nicole finds EJ at Chez Rouge
and starts probing him about his feelings. To Nicole’s dismay, EJ responds
that he cares for both her and Sami. Nicole decides not to tell EJ about
the baby and leaves. A dejected Nicole heads to the DiMera mansion for a
chat with John. Nicole shares what happened at Chez Rouge, but John insists
that Nicole still needs to tell EJ. Nicole and John are in the midst of
their conversation when EJ walks in. John asks if Nicole is going to tell
EJ or if he has to. Nicole delivers her news to EJ, unaware that Sami is
lurking about and listening to every word of it. EJ stands there in shock.
Deidre Hall talks about Marlena’s decision to use reverse psychology on
John this week. Kayla urges Marlena to help John instead of divorcing him.
Marlena decides to give it a try and heads to the mansion to see John with
divorce papers in her hand. John still refuses to get medical help and
flings the divorce papers before giving Marlena a serious kiss. Marlena
tells John that he needs to sign the papers and give them back to her, but
he refuses. Marlena leaves the mansion.
This Week: Bo and Roman find Max’s bloody shirt. Nick gets a DUI.
Melanie remembers details about Trent’s murder. Kate leaves the hospital
against Daniel’s wishes. Theo goes missing. Chelsea tells Daniel to move
on.

Sami and Nicole: Both Pregnant by EJ! Nicole and Sami both receive the same
shocking news this week: They are expecting! Nicole finds out first when she
goes to see Dr. Jonas because she is throwing up all over the place. Sami finds
out after she faints at the DiMera mansion and Lucas takes her to the hospital
for a checkup. While waiting for the results of her blood test, Lucas and Sami
grow closer and then the doctor delivers the news. Nicole plans a date with EJ
at the mansion and runs into John. Nicole shares her happy news. EJ comes down
for dinner and Nicole is about to tell him about the baby when Lucas calls to
say that Sami is in the hospital. EJ rushes off. When EJ gets to the hospital,
Sami doesn’t tell him what is going on.
Morgan on Ouster! Kristen Renton says that she didn’t see it coming. Morgan
will be moving out of Salem. Renton said that she wanted to know if her
character, Morgan, was going to be coming back from Chicago. Renton says that
her last day came quickly, but was fun and everyone was supportive.
Kristen Renton leaves the show on 10/3, when Morgan Hollingsworth leaves
town.
Philip and Chloe, Take 3! Chloe may be dating Lucas, but she and Philip are
drawn to each other again this week. Lucas and Chloe are having problems and
Chloe and Philip still have chemistry that is going to be explored. Philip and
Chloe run into each other at the Brady Pub and things turn flirtatious. Chloe
admits that she misses singing. Later, Lucas encourages Chloe to return to her
musical roots and privately asks Philip to make a call to an opera company. By
week’s end, Chloe and Philip are kissing, which Morgan sees; she and Philip
split and she leaves town.
Kate undergoes a biopsy to see if she has lung cancer on 10/2. Morgan walks
in on Philip kissing Chloe on 10/3.
What Will Happen: Bo arrests Caroline. Daniel wants to help Kate through her
ordeal. Philip and Chloe flirt at the Pub.
SOW 10/7/08
Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes appear as Doug and Julie on 9/29, when they
turn up in Salem.
Marshall Hilliard returns as Dylan.
Bo Arrests Caroline! Bo faces a heart-wrenching challenge this week when he
is forced to arrest Caroline for murder. Bo comes upon Trent’s body lying right
in front of his mother and she is holding the murder weapon in her hand. Hope
cautions Bo that they have to do it by the book. Hope and Bo don’t handcuff
Caroline, but they do take her to the police station where she is booked and put
in lockup. Bo and Roman search for evidence. Bo, Steve, Roman and hope work
overtime, even discussing other suspects: Max, Nick, Nicole and Melanie. When
forensics reports that a cotton-blend fiber was found on the body, they hope
that it might clear Caroline. Questioning Caroline only makes things worse
because she admits to threatening Trent with a knife. Later, while Caroline
faces the judge, Roman and Bo learn there was a witness to Caroline’s threat.
Daniel Stands By Kate! Kate prepares for the worst this week, when she
undergoes a biopsy to see if she has lung cancer. Kate is determined to do it
alone until she knows for sure. Kate promises Daniel that she will have more
tests run only if he keeps quiet and doesn’t tell her family. Daniel
reluctantly agrees to keep quiet, but asks to see Kate through the biopsy,
insisting that Kate can’t do it alone. Kate doesn’t want Daniel on the case,
but he refuses to remove himself from it. Lucas and Philip arrive at the
hospital moments before Kate’s biopsy. After Philip and Lucas leave, Kate is
sedated and waits for her lung biopsy with Daniel by her side.
Adrianne Zucker talks about the storyline twist involving Nicole and Sami.
Both of EJ’s women learn they are pregnant this week, as first Nicole and then
Sami receive the news from their doctors. Zucker says that she is very excited
that her character (Nicole) is pregnant. Nicole thinks that she is sick from
eating Caroline’s clam chowder and that maybe the clams were bad. The doctor
tells her that she is pregnant, but she doesn’t think that it is possible
because she had been told she couldn’t have children. Nicole is thrilled to be
pregnant with EJ’s child. Nicole runs into EJ and they end up planning a dinner
date at the DiMera mansion. Nicole is very excited to tell EJ the news, but she
doesn’t get a chance because EJ gets a call saying that Sami is in the hospital
and he runs out. Nicole is left sitting at a candlelit table alone and she
wonders if it would be better to raise the child on her own.
This Week: Daniel insists on helping Kate through her ordeal. Max and
Melanie suspect each other of murder. Theo makes a breakthrough in therapy.
Kayla is appointed chief of staff.

Trent is Murdered! Trent is found murdered this week! Max and Melanie
will be likely suspects when their dad is found murdered, especially since
they fight with their father in his hotel room. Trent asks Melanie to
basically prostitute herself again and “take care” of the debt with Claude
again and Max loses it. Nick comes in while Max is fighting with Trent and
pulls his pal off the dean. Melanie calls her father a monster and Trent
tells his children that they are worthless. In the meantime, Caroline heads
to the station, worried about the death threats Max has made against Trent.
By week’s end, Caroline is found standing over Trent’s dead body holding a
bloody knife. Roscoe Born (Trent) is on contract until 10/31.

Roscoe Born is leaving the show as Trent Robbins, when Trent is murdered
this week. Born is under contract until 10/31, so expect to see him in
newly created flashbacks.
Kate’s Diagnosis: Cancer! Daniel takes a look at Kate’s chest X-ray this
week and delivers some bad news: He thinks she has lung cancer. Kate is a
survivor and is very tenacious in everything she does. Kate is trying to
distance herself from Daniel, but now she will be even more deeply involved.
Hope is offered the job of police commissioner on 9/24.
Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn are featured as Performers of the Week for
their portrayals of Marlena and John during the hospital storyline.
What Will Happen: John has a seizure. Victor makes a mysterious call
about Trent. Daniel sees Chelsea for the first time since her return to

Crazy Rumor: Nicole is Melanie’s mother.
Trent: Grave Matters! Trent gets what is coming to him
this week, when he turns up dead and Max turns up covered in his blood.
Trent’s demise is set in motion after Melanie confronts him at the pub and
announces that he deserves to die. Max is there supporting his sister. Max
tells Trent to leave town, but Trent refuses. Caroline gets Max to cool
down, albeit temporarily. Things escalate later, when Trent summons Melanie
to his hotel room and she heads there with Max. Desperate to repay another
debt to Claude, Trent asks Melanie to set things right with him. Max is
furious and gets into a fight with Trent. Max and Melanie leave. Later,
Max returns home wearing a bloody shirt and rushes up to his room to
change. Moments later, Stephanie arrives and notices bruises and scratches
on Max’s shoulder. Max heads off to the shower and Stephanie finds the
bloody shirt and confronts him. Max admits that some of it is Trent’s
because they got into a fight at his pop’s grave. Meanwhile, Hope and Bo
hear a scream at the grave and find Caroline holding a bloody knife over
Trent’s dead body.
Deidre Hall talks about Marlena’s decision to rush to
John’s side this week when he suffers a seizure and is rushed to the
hospital. At the beginning of the week, Marlena tells Anna about John’s
behavior and that she is resigned to getting a divorce. Marlena rushes to
John’s side the minute she hears that there is something wrong. Kayla
shares John’s CT scan results with Marlena and they find out that John’s
brain doesn’t have a normal appearance. Marlena realizes that Stefano is
the only person who can undo it. Stefano refuses to help and Marlena begins
to plead. Later, Marlena returns to the hospital, determined to save John.
This Week: Chelsea admits she still has feelings for
Nick. Lexie severs all ties to Stefano. Victor demands that Nicole return
his settlement. Hope receives an intriguing job offer.

Max Threatens Trent! Stephanie and Max return to Salem, where he
promptly gets in a fight with Trent. Max walks up to Trent and punches
him. Things get worse when Melanie arrives. Trent is trying to take
Melanie out of there and she doesn’t want to go. Three times, Max tells
Trent to get his hands off her, and finally cracks a bottle open and holds
it to Trent’s throat. Stephanie is trying to get him to stop and Melanie
has had it. Melanie says to go ahead and kill Trent. Kayla, Caroline and
Steve come in and Caroline says that Shawn would be ashamed of Max. That is
what finally makes Max stop. Bo arrives and Trent threatens to press
charges.
Stefano throws a cocktail party at the mansion on 9/17. Kate’s condition
takes a turn for the worse on 9/18.

Nicole’s Past With Trent Exposed! Nicole’s happiness over reconciling
with EJ is short-lived this week, when Hope and Bo force her to admit that
she is still married to Trent. Nicole and EJ face off about what she did to
Sami. Nicole says that she was just helping out the law. EJ agrees that
Sami is out of control and the conversation turns to Nicole’s predicament
with Trent. EJ suggests that Nicole take all her money and leave for some
island. EJ admits that the idea of running off with Nicole is tempting, but
he can’t leave Salem because of his son. EJ and Nicole discuss going on a
date. Nicole’s bliss over her potential date with EJ quickly dissipates
when she runs in to Hope and Bo, and they start questioning her about
Trent. Nicole ends up explaining that she married Trent, as porn star Misty
Circle, but left and assumed that he filed for divorce. Nicole could lose
all her money because Trent never filed for divorce and her divorce
settlement from Victor could be void.

Stephanie pleads with Max to leave, but Max walks in and punches Trent. Max

Trent. Trent insults Max and Melanie. Trent tries to take Melanie out of
the pub and Max smashes a bottle and puts it to Trent’s neck. Max tells
Trent that he is a dead man. Kayla and Steve try to talk Max down and then
Caroline steps in and gets Max to stop. Caroline tells Max that his pop
would be ashamed and Max puts the bottle down. Melanie lays into Trent and
says that he deserves to die, while Bo slams Max for his violent outburst.
Max says that he should have killed Trent when he had the chance. Kayla
steps in and says that Bo is right. Max feels betrayed by his family.
This Week: Chloe wonders if Lucas still loves Sami. Stefano decides to
throw a party. Lexie is called before the hospital board. Marlena tells
Hope that she drugged Stefano. Philip offers Lucas a job at Titan. Abe
relinquishes his badge.

Nick is Shot! Melanie is missing again this week, but Nick tracks her
down on a friend’s party yacht. Nick calls Max and tells him that he found
Melanie on a yacht. Nick can tell that she is involved in something that
she shouldn’t be. Turns out, Trent has called Melanie and told her that he
is strapped for cash because he has been gambling. Trent asks her to have a
drink with his sleazy pal Claude to pay off the debt. Claude and his thugs
arrive as Nick boards the yacht. Nick gets pistol-whipped by one of the
thugs and goes down, pretty out of it. Claude tries to get physical with
Melanie and Nick makes one last attempt at saving her. Nick knocks this guy
down and gets shot in the shoulder. Max and the cops rush in and Nick is
taken to the hospital. Melanie visits Nick in the hospital and kisses him.
Melanie leaves and Chelsea comes in. Chelsea has gone to France to join her
pals and mend her broken heart. By week’s end, the group is ready to head
back to Salem, and Melanie plans to join them.
Changes! Co-Executive Producer, Gary Tomlin has hired Christopher
Whitesell as co-head writer. Costume Designer, Richard Bloore has been
replaced by Chic Gennarelli.
Jordi Caballero appears on 9/9 as Claude, when Nick rescues Melanie from
him.
Ross Mathews appears as Kate’s assistant, Chris. He first airs on 9/9 in
scenes with Morgan, and appeared on 5/14 in gym scenes with Sami.
Sami is Arrested! Sami has a run-in with the cops this week, courtesy of
Nicole. It all starts when Lucas shows up to take Allie to the Horton
cabin. Nicole comes to talk to EJ, while Sami wants his help in fighting to
get Allie back. EJ blows up in their faces and says that he isn’t there to
solve their problems. Sami heads to the cabin, followed by EJ, which irks
Nicole. Nicole, vindictively, calls the cops to report a kidnapping. Sami
gets to the cabin with a little bear and Allie’s favorite blanket. She
calls for Chloe and Lucas, but they aren’t around and Allie is alone. EJ
walks in and accuses Sami of coming to steal Allie. Lucas comes in next,
followed by Chloe and the cops. Sami is arrested for breaking a court
order.
Kate goes on a date with Stefano, and he proposes to her on 9/12.
What Will Happen: Sami is arrested. An ailing Kate goes to the
hospital. Nick gets shot. John is thrown that Marlena has a date.
SOW 9/16
New co-executive producer, Gary Tomlin, has recruited Christopher
Whitesell to take on co-head writing duties with Dena Higley.
Crazy Rumor: Forbes March (ex-Nash, OLTL) will resurface as the new Eric
Brady.
Stefano Proposes To Kate! Kate arrives at the mansion for a dinner date
with Stefano and Tony asks Stefano’s true intentions for Kate. Anna and
Tony stick around and impose themselves on the date. When dinner is over,
Stefano gets Kate alone to talk, while Anna and Tony eavesdrop. To Kate’s
surprise, Stefano proposes marriage. Kate asks about Marlena and Stefano
says that it might be time to crown a new “Queen of the Night”. Kate agrees
to consider the proposal.
James Scott talks about the custody situation that leads Sami astray and
leaves EJ fed up. Sami is beside herself over Lucas being granted joint
custody of Allie. EJ tries to talk Sami out of getting upset. Sami tries
to get EJ to do something legally, but there is nothing he can do because
Lucas filed for joint custody and won. When Lucas arrives to take Allie, EJ
helps Sami hand the baby over. Later, Sami finds EJ and Nicole together and
flips out. Nicole and Sami start bickering and EJ tells them that he isn’t
there to fix their problems and that he has his own stuff to deal with.
Sami heads to the Horton cabin, where Lucas took Allie. EJ looks for the
teddybear that Allie left behind and realizes where Sami went. EJ heads to
the cabin and finds Sami holding Allie. EJ tells Sami to put the baby down
and leave or it will get ugly. Lucas walks in and the cops arrive and
arrest Sami for breaking a court order.
This Week: John is jealous when Marlena considers a date with Trent.
Philip invites Morgan on a romantic weekend. Max vows to kill his father.
Hope and Bo close in on Nicole’s connection to Trent. Nick is shot while
trying to help Melanie.

Another Shakeup! Executive Producer Ken Corday has decided to replace
Co-Executive Producer Ed Scott with Gary Tomlin. The news comes weeks after
a reported blowup between Scott and Head Writer Dena Higley, who sources say
filed a complaint with the WGA as a result. Tomlin served as the show’s
co-head writer from 1980-1981 and came up with a story overnight that kept
the show on the air.
Marlena to John: I Want A Divorce! Marlena tells John that she wants to
move on, and she does with Trent. Of course, this decision comes at the
same time that John has decided that he wants to work on their marriage and
to get to know her better. Marlena has come out of the crisis a changed
person and has zero tolerance for nonsense now. Trent asks Marlena out on a
date. The date prompts Marlena to ask John for a divorce because she wants
to make a clean break. John isn’t thrilled about her request. Marlena is
ready to say goodbye to John.

Terrell Tilford returns as Dr. Carrington, Theo’s doctor, on 9/5.

as co-executive producer of the show, Edward Scott was abruptly let go and
replaced by Gary Tomlin. Scott was escorted from the studio by security
guards on 8/15.
Roscoe Born will be on his way out as Trent, Max’s father, since Trent’s
days come to a close this fall.
Eve Plumb guest-stars as Dora, a woman on the verge of a nervous
breakdown on 8/29 and will be counseled by Marlena.
Ross Matthews returns as Chris on 9/9, as Kate’s assistant.
Marlena to John: “I Want a Divorce!” Marlena stuns John this week when
she asks for a divorce. John tracks her down at the pub and is concerned
because she left the house unprotected. Marlena understands John’s
concerns, but doesn’t appreciate his insistence that she leave with him.
She is frightened, but knows that she cannot live in fear. Trent had
invited Marlena to join him for breakfast, and Marlena turned him down.
Marlena declares her independence and sits down with Trent. Marlena and
Trent enjoy breakfast and Trent asks her out on a date. Later, Marlena asks
John for a divorce.
Peter Reckell talks about Bo’s latest plight. Bo arrests Stefano and
prepares to face the music with Internal Affairs over tampering with
evidence in the Paul Hollingsworth case this week. Bo shows up at the
mansion when Stefano returns to reclaim his home and arrests him. The
police think Stefano had something to do with the hospital lockdown and the
kidnapping of baby Joe. Roman gets a call saying that the DA won’t be
filing charges against Stefano and ordering his release. Bo is furious, as
well as everyone else. Bo prepares to be questioned by Internal Affairs
about stealing police evidence, but he isn’t regretting what he did. Philip
shows up at the station before it all goes down. Bo called Philip because
the police have found Paul alive. Bo is hoping that he gets a slap on the
wrist because he did it for family and it didn’t affect anything in the end.
Fall Preview! Steve starts investigating Trent, while Hope and Bo
uncover a secret. Something unexpected happens to Hope and Bo as detectives
on the force, based on the police’s handling of the lockdown. Someone will
lose a job and someone will get a job. Stefano’s hard-wiring of John starts
to short-circuit. John starts experiencing physical, emotional and
intellectual side effects. Kayla starts to help John and Marlena realizes
that there might be hope to bring the old John back. Kate is diagnosed with
a severe illness, but will be in denial for a while. Chelsea realizes that
Daniel is never going to figure into her life and Daniel will gravitate back
to Kate. A power struggle kicks off for the DiMera empire. John, Tony and
EJ are siding up against Stefano. Abe takes matters into his own hands when
he becomes fed up with Stefano forever eluding the police. Trent is removed
from the equation in the Max/Stephanie/Melanie/Nick/Chelsea story. Nick
develops feelings for Melanie, but she is a loose cannon and not really keen
on making friends. There will be a murder down the road. Sami won’t be
pleased by the result of her war with Lucas and will turn to EJ for support,
but he’s preoccupied with Nicole, who had to deal with skeletons in her
closet being exposed. A happy, albeit catastrophic, event occurs in late
October-early November. It affects Sami, Lucas, EJ, Nicole, Chloe, Philip
and Morgan. Philip will be torn between his Morgan and Chloe.
This Week: Victor aligns with Stefano. Morgan reunites with Paul.
Chelsea decides to move on without Daniel. Nicole tells John about Trent’s
weakness. Lucas invites Chloe to the Horton cabin.

SOD 9/2/08
John and Marlena Have Sex! John keeps watch over Marlena at the hospital
as she shakes off the effects of her drug-induced coma. John is thrilled
and tells her about his plan to work on their marriage. Marlena tells him
that since he came back, she has spent so much time on him that she has lost
track of who she is and that she needs to move herself in a healthy
direction. Roman arrives and argues with John about where Marlena should
live after she is released. Marlena agrees to go home with John for one
night. The next day, John returns to the hospital, but Marlena is missing.
John finds her in her office counseling a woman. They embrace and one thing
leads to another very quickly. They make love on her desk. After, John
says that he knew he could win Marlena back and she asks if it was all a
conquest. John says it was and she scrambles to get her clothes on. EJ
calls and says that all hell is breaking loose at the mansion because of
Stefano. John wants to protect Marlena and tells her that she is coming
back to the mansion with him and that he won’t take no for an answer.
Chelsea Learns The Truth! Kate and Daniel’s affair is outed this week
when Chelsea uncovers the truth. Chelsea is at the hospital pressing Philip
for information about what is going on with Bo and Victor and finds out, in
a way, that Philip had something to do with it. Chelsea gets stressed out
and goes to find Daniel. She finds Daniel and Kate hugging, which she
thinks is weird since they don’t like each other. Chelsea asks Daniel if
they can hang out at his place after work. She needs to rid herself of her
stress in some way and she is ready to sleep with him for the first time.
Chelsea goes to his house and gets food. Daniel gets home and goes into the
bathroom, leaving his phone in the other room. A text message comes through
and Chelsea thinks that he is being paged to the hospital. She calls for
him, but he doesn’t answer so she checks it herself and finds a text message
from Kate saying, “I had fun the other night.” Chelsea jumps to conclusions
and is leaving when Daniel comes out. Chelsea tells him what is going on
and he doesn’t confirm or deny anything. Chelsea heads out to confront Kate
and Daniel follows. The three hash it out at the Pub, where Chelsea learns
that Kate and Daniel had sex. In the end, Chelsea dumps Daniel.
Ratings for 8/4: 1.7
Marshall Hilliard appears as Dylan, a cop, on 9/2 and 9/3.
Steve thinks it is time to investigate Trent Robbins on 8/28. Stefano
tells Tony that he is coming home on 8/29.
Fall Forward (Fall Preview)! Though the Hollingsworth case will be
wrapped up, the Salem PD will be dealing with the repercussions from the
hospital lockdown. There will be a major shake-up in the ranks and
inevitably, it will leave Hope and Bo on uneven ground at home, resulting in
a true test of their relationship. Stefano will once again elude the long
arm of the law thanks to an unexpected alliance. The DiMera men will be
caught up in a power struggle over the family empire. Marlena will continue
to wrestle with her feelings for John, made even more complicated when he
starts exhibiting erratic behavior. Steve will begin investigating Trent,
leading him, Bo and Hope to uncover a secret that will have a big impact on
key Salemites. Kayla will take on John as a patient after he starts
experiencing new side effects from his treatment at the hands of Stefano and
Rolf. The war between Lucas and Sami escalates and Sami won’t be pleased by
the result. Sami will turn to EJ for support, but he isn’t ready to give up
on Nicole yet. Nicole’s livelihood will be threatened when certain
skeletons in her closet are revealed. Chloe and Lucas’s relationship will
continue to blossom, but a romantic getaway will be cut short by an
unwelcome visitor. Morgan will find it harder to fight her feelings for
Philip. Theo’s care will be Lexie and Abe’s primary focus and Lexie will
make life-changing decisions to do what is best for her son. Abe will also
be consumed by his hatred for Stefano and will take surprising steps in an
effort to put an end to his reign of terror. A heartbroken Chelsea will
flee to France to be with her friends, but she isn’t pleased to see Nick and
Melanie’s new bond. Trent’s shady past will catch up to him and in a
desperate attempt to save himself, he will put Max and Melanie’s lives in
danger. Daniel and Kate will be dealing with the fallout of their
confession to Chelsea about their affair, as she seems to have no intention
of forgiving them. In the midst of that, Kate will receive devastating
news.
What Will Happen: Morgan sees her father. Chelsea sees a revealing text
message from Kate on Daniel’s phone. Anna and Tony move into the DiMera
mansion.
SOW 9/2/08
Daniel and Kate’s Affair Exposed! Chelsea’s blossoming romance with
Daniel comes to a screeching halt this week, when she finds out about
his affair with Kate, her grandmother. Chelsea surprises Daniel at his
apartment and says that she wants to make love. Daniel is completely
into it. Daniel goes into the other room to do something and his phone
goes off. Chelsea, thinking it is a page from the hospital, looks and
sees a text message from Kate. Chelsea confronts Daniel when he returns
and jumps to conclusions. She storms off and confronts Kate, who claims
that she doesn’t know what Chelsea is talking about. Daniel finds Kate
and Chelsea together and confesses to having a fling with Kate before he
and Chelsea were together. Daniel pleads for Chelsea’s forgiveness, but
she tells him that they can’t get past it.
Drake Hogestyn talks about John’s new relationship with Marlena and
his determination to control the DiMera empire. John visits a
recovering Marlena in the hospital. Marlena has realized that her time
would be better spent working on herself, rather than John and Marlena
says that she has wasted too much time on him. John has decided to work
on their relationship. Later, John goes to visit Marlena again, but she
is gone and he finds her in her office. John barges in on a session and
tells her that she has to go back to her room, according to doctor’s
orders, because it is too soon to be working. John comes clean about
his feelings when Marlena was dying. They embrace and one thing leads
to another and they have sex on her desk and couch. John insists on
taking Marlena back to the mansion so that he can protect her, but
Marlena has made a firm decision to move on with her life. Marlena and
John arrive at the mansion and are told by EJ that Tony and Anna are
moving in and Stefano is returning to reclaim the empire. John wants
everyone out, except Marlena, but they aren’t going anywhere.
This Week: Lucas vows to get custody of Allie. Roman gives Bo 48
hours to crack Paul’s case. Nick comes to Stephanie and Max’s rescue.
Steve decides to investigate Trent.
Can’t Miss: Morgan sees her father on 8/27.
Next Week: Chloe and Lucas start moving Allie. Bo arrests Stefano.
Morgan confronts John. Theo loses it. Marlena is asked out.
SOD 8/26
John to Marlena: I Want You Back! At first it seemed like John wasn’t affected
by the gas at the hospital, but now he has his own hallucination. John is
visited by young Stefano who says that Colleen ruined his father’s life. John
tries to explain that it was Santo’s fault and not Colleen’s. The kid runs out
of the room and John follows him, only to run into Santo. John tells Santo to
take a hike. Santo tells John that he needs Marlena, but John says that he
doesn’t. John hears a voice telling him that he is wrong. The voice turns out to
be the old John. John goes to see Marlena afterwards and decides to reevaluate
the relationship he has been hearing about, but never experienced. John says
that he should try to work on their relationship and their marriage.
Ratings for 7/28: 1.7
Matthew Borlenghi appears on 9/18 as the mayor, who shares scenes with Roman and
Abe.
Marshall Hilliard appears on 9/2 and 9/3 as Dylan, a cop.

Crazy Rumor: RoboJohn’s memory will return and face “RoboMarlena”.
Matt Borlenghi joins the cast as the mayor of Salem. He is set to begin airing
9/18, although his character is still waiting on a name.
Marshall Hilliard appears as Dylan on 9/2 and 9/3.
Davide Schiavone appears as young Stefano on 8/20.
John to Marlena: I Want You Back! John tells Marlena that he wants to make a go
of their marriage this week! John and Marlena have been affected by the purple
vapor and are confronted with figures from their pasts. John meets up with Santo
and the old John, who urge him not to give up on his love for Marlena, while
Marlena encounters her deceased twin, Samantha. Samantha lectures Marlena about
drugging Stefano and then tells Marlena to live her best life. Samantha
encourages Marlena to fight the toxin Stefano had her injected with and Marlena
reaches for the syringe of possible antidote and plunges it into her thigh.
Later, Lexie checks on Marlena and declares her prognosis good, just as John
approaches her bedside. John tells Marlena that he wants to fight for their
marriage and Marlena starts falling asleep as she says that he has no idea how
much she wanted to be with him.
Arianne Zucker talks about Nicole’s lost loves. Nicole catches Sami and EJ
kissing during the hospital lockdown, which shatters her dreams of a future with
EJ. Nicole starts drinking and daydreaming about losing EJ before catching him
with Sami. In Nicole’s fantasy, she finds an earring on their bedroom floor and
takes it to Lucas, who recognizes it as Sami’s. Nicole confronts EJ and he
doesn’t deny being with Sami, and Nicole ends up trying to smother Sami. Nicole
is unsettled by the fantasy and heads to the hospital to make sure that EJ is
fine. Nicole is shocked when she enters the trauma center and sees Sami and EJ
making out on a monitor. Later, Nicole confronts EJ about Sami and he doesn’t
think that he did anything wrong. EJ realizes that he hurt Nicole. Nicole
decides that she has to pick herself up and move on.
This Week: Stefano hands baby Joe over to Rolf. Lucas deals with Sami’s latest
betrayal. Tony and EJ unite to fight John’s takeover of the DiMera empire.
Stefano vows to destroy John, Marlena and the Bradys.
Can’t Miss: Steve and Kayla are reunited with their son on 8/21.

SOD 8/19
Backstage Drama! An explosive online report by TV Guide Canada’s soap columnist
Nelson Branco that Head Writer Dena Higley had quit, set off an Internet
firestorm, but is untrue. The original post appeared in Branco’s 7/24 “Suds
Report” said that Higley walked, but the post was removed a couple of days
later. One actor was asked about Higley’s exit while shopping in a supermarket.
Digest learned that the talk of tension between Scott (Co-Executive Producer,
Edward Scott) and Higley was not exaggerated, but Higley is still writing the
show.
Marlena is Paralyzed! Stefano is in attack mode this week and Marlena is his
target. The week starts with Anna telling John that Stefano is awake and Marlena
is missing. John and Anna head to Marlena’s apartment and find her lying
helpless on the floor, not breathing because of an injection she received from a
masked assailant. John performs CPR and begs her to hang on, while Anna calls
911. A paralyzed Marlena is rushed to the hospital, where Kayla searches for an
antidote for whatever Marlena was injected with. Tony confronts Marlena about
causing Stefano’s coma and expresses his disappointment. Kayla returns thinking
that she has found an antidote, but purple vapor comes out of the vents before
she can administer it. Kayla puts an oxygen mask on Marlena and goes to
investigate. Once Kayla is gone, Stefano enters Marlena’s room and removes the
mask. Stefano shows Marlena the broken disk containing John’s memories and
tosses it in the trash.
Ratings for 7/21: 1.7
Sami Kisses EJ! The purple gas in the hospital causes Sami to act out against EJ.
Sami hallucinates when talking to EJ, sees Stefano and starts freaking out.
Fortunately, Sami seeks shelter in the stairwell, where there is no gas. She
hears footsteps and thinks it is Stefano, so she trips him and he falls down the
stairs. She realizes that it is EJ and feels guilty and upset. Sami pours out
her feelings to her ex and he comes to, having heard everything she said. They
share an intimate kiss, which is witnessed by Nicole.
The seventh floor of the hospital goes into lockdown, trapping everyone inside
on 8/12. Kayla and Steve panic when baby Joe is kidnapped on 8/15.

What Will Happen: Lexie tells Roman and Abe that Stefano is awake. Marlena fears
that she is going to die. Sami confesses to EJ that she still has feelings for
him.
SOW 8/19
Dena Higley is still the head writer of the show, contrary to rumors.
John Saves Marlena! John is at St. Luke’s and Anna tells him that Stefano is
awake. Anna and John find Marlena lying on her apartment floor and John realizes
that whatever has been done to Marlena, is the same thing that she did to
Stefano. Anna calls 911, while John begins CPR. John successfully revives
Marlena and she is rushed to the hospital. John confronts Stefano, but Stefano
stays quiet. John tells Stefano that he now cares about Marlena because she was
targeted and cares about anyone she cares about. The toxin in Marlena’s system
causes her to be partially paralyzed. Kayla finds an antidote, just as the
seventh floor goes into lockdown and begins filling with a purple vapor. Kayla
goes to investigate and Stefano shows up to taunt Marlena. Everyone in the
hospital is affected by the vapor, except for John, who has figured out that
Stefano released it. John and Tony head to the electrical room, trying to get
the ventilation going in the hospital. John tests Tony’s loyalty. Stefano tells
John over the intercom that it is time to reboot and Tony decides to align with
John to keep Stefano from winning.
Joseph Mascolo talks about Stefano’s revenge. Stefano wakes up and turns the
tables on Marlena this week! Sami and Tony confront Stefano about his plan for
Marlena, in front of EJ. Stefano says that he believes in “an eye for an eye”
and will make the person responsible for what happened to him pay. Stefano
orders someone to inject Marlena. After Marlena is rushed to the hospital,
Stefano takes over the hospital’s ventilation system. Stefano releases a vapor
that makes everyone hallucinate about seeing him. By the end of the week,
Stefano is standing over Marlena’s hospital bed. Stefano shows Marlena the
broken disk containing John’s memories and throws it in the trash.
This Week: Sami threatens Stefano. Kayla searches for a cure. John and Tony face
off over the DiMera empire. Nicole admits to Philip that she is falling for EJ.
Roman investigates a hospital emergency. Steve tries to save baby Joe.
Can’t Miss: EJ and Sami share an intimate moment on 8/15.
Next Week: Roman thinks Stefano caused the lockdown. Rolf has baby Joe. John
faces his old self. Lucas insists he and Sami are over.
