John: You're gloating. You're trying to soften me up.

Marlena: [Giggles] You can bait me all you want. I am just imbued with the Christmas spirit. And there's nothing that you can do about it.

John: Well, that's throwing down the gauntlet. You know I like things grim.

Marlena: (Brady wants to leave after getting a less than warm greeting from John) Brady, look, you have to understand John's sense of humor. It's not funny, that's all.

Lucas: (Julie and Doug admire Chloe’s necklace) Yeah, it's Mom's way of making her a bona fide member of the Horton clan.

Doug: So, Kate is not always wrong.

John: (John convinces Brady and Marlena to accompany him to visit Stefano on Christmas Eve) Not very Christmasy, I know. But after everything Stefano's done to me, I need to show him that I'm not broken and I'm not alone.

Marlena: Now, that makes sense. [Doorbell rings] Here we go a wassailing.

Stefano: (passing out cigars) John, these just got here yesterday. Exorbitantly expensive, highly illegal -- two of my favorite things.

John: Yes. Like whiskers on kittens?

Marlena: (Anna went to Switzerland alone to see family) Tell me, why did you come here instead of going to Switzerland?

Tony: He's up to something.

Marlena: Well, if you wait till he's not up to something, you'll never leave home.

E.J.: (anxious to get away from Tony and his warnings about Stefano) You know, darling, maybe we should go next door. Father's sitting there alone.

Tony: You know, you just don't get it, do you? Father can be in a stadium with thousands of people. He'd still be alone.
