Martino: (Avas father) I was hoping I'd never run into you again.
Steve: The feeling's mutual.
Nicole: So, I'm on my way over here, and I was starting to think, "why do you need my help, E.J.?" I mean, you were born in Salem on American soil, and then you moved to England a few months later. So don't you have dual citizenship?
E.J.: [Clears throat] Well, technically, I suppose I should, but my mother tried to pass me off as another woman's child, and therefore my original birth certificate became null and void. Then when my parents moved to the U.K., they were frightened, so they registered me as Edmund's son, so I became a U.K. citizen, and any roots I had in the U.S. just disappeared for my own protection.
Nicole: Wow. I don't know about the rest of you, but I could use a drink after that very confusing bit of backstory.
John: (The immigration officer requests to talk to John first) (to Sami) Okay. I've got your back.
Sami: Oh, God, that's exactly what I'm afraid of.
Sami: Uh, John? I just wanted to make sure you didn't do anything that could hurt us with the immigration guy.
John: Now, why would I do that? I simply told the truth.
Sami: The real truth or -- or our version of the truth?
John: I'm having a hard time separating the two. Which would you prefer?
