2006 Our Opinion!

My Opinion by Jamison

It was hard to stay caught up with the episodes from two weeks ago, considering I was moving into a dormitory with two roommates who arenít avid TV watchers and thus donít have cable installed in the room.  But I managed to catch them, so I can finally give you my two scoops.

Shawn/Belle/Philip/Mimi/Bonnie: At last, Claire has been taken off life support, and I was so happy that the show finally found a baby to cast in the role.  Twin babies, actually, but you know . . . Anyway, I forgot a lot of what happened in this storyline because for the most part, itís pretty damn boring at this point.  All I do know is that Bonnie finally figured out the truth about Claire, mostly based on Kateís overly generous offer regarding Shawn and Mimiís upcoming wedding.  Iím glad to see that someone figured it out.  Not so glad that it wasnít Shawn or Belle themselves.

Kate/John/Marlena/Alex: I shouldíve known.  I shouldíve known!  Alex and Lois ó in cahoots all this time!  I couldnít believe it ó and just after Marlena suggested she and Alex renew their vows!  Alex truly isnít on the up-and-up, and that kiss he planted on Lois, who isnít psycho at all, most certainly proved it.  I hate to admit it, but this storyline is actually getting interesting again.

Austin/Sami/Lucas/Carrie/Nicole: Sami and Lucas, sure enough, are still looking for the perfect opportunities to move in on Austin and Carrie, respectively.  I was actually hoping that Carrie would forgive Austin, as it was evident she was considering doing just that.  But in the end, she didnít.  And I grew sad.  Then, Lucas brought all in attendance (Austin, Sami, and Carrie) the news of little Zackís death, which surprised me because Zack had been dead for, like, a couple weeks already and they hadnít found out.  (And then I thought, Oh, right.  Salem time.)  And while I wasnít surprised at Lucas and Austinís reactions to it, Sami and Carrieís reactions did surprise me.  I didnít think Sami would care less, but she did, comparing Bo and Hopeís situation to what sheíd do if she lost Will, and that was a very motherly thing to say.  Carrie surprised me because . . . I donít recall her ever meeting Zack, and she said so herself, which was why she felt so sad.  But all the sadness of that situation was pretty much forgotten about quickly courtesy of Lucas suddenly bringing up the takeover again, which . . . no.  That was so insensitive of him.  He canít take more than five minutes to think of what his Cousin Hope is going through?  No wonder Iím over him.

Frankie/Jennifer: Donít know if they were on or not, so moving on.

Bo/Hope/Roman/Max/Abby/Chelsea/Patrick/Billie: All eight of these characters basically fell into connecting folds, so I lumped them all together.  I commend the show for very realistically showing Bo and Hope dealing with the fallout of their sonís death.  (Well, realistically if you donít count her wearing perfect makeup.)  Hope is still furious with Billie for what she thinks she did, but really didnít do.  Meanwhile, Bo is guilt-ridden for continuing to let Billie suffer for something Chelsea did.  Speaking of Billie, guess who made an appearance this week to try and help her out?  Yes, thatís right ó my boy, Patrick, showed up again after weeks away (Brody Hutzler, who plays Patrick, was off filming a movie over the last couple of months) and, after having a confrontation with Chelsea in which he failed to get the truth from her, he went to try and convince Billie to tell the truth.  She still wouldnít, but I got what Iíd been waiting for from my favorite budding couple ó they finally said the ďLĒ word to each other!  Eeeeeeee!  Ahem.  Sorry.  Anyway, Patrick is now on the case, trying to prove Billie innocent, and I greatly give him credit for that.  I canít say the same for Chelsea, though, whoís selfishly letting her own mother take the fall for her crime.  Max and Abby both tried unsuccessfully to get her to confess to save Billie, even going so far as to threatening to wash their hands of her if she didnít, which I think is a good idea.  The girl was trouble to begin with.

And thatís just whatís on my mind!
