My Opinion by
remember much of last week, so I’ll have to give the Cliff Notes
version of every storyline from then.
Shawn/Belle/Philip/Mimi/Kate: Claire’s still sick, Kate’s still
obsessing over finding out the baby isn’t Philip’s. It’s completely
evident she’s going to try and pull a Sami and switch some medical
records. Meanwhile, I’m still on the Shimi train because they were
hot last week!
John/Marlena/Alex: Marlena made her “final” choice at the
hospital. It was, unfortunately, Alex. Man, how stupid could
she be? Are the writers trying to make her into a total moron now?
Sure looks like it. We didn’t see them for the rest of the
week after Marlena made her choice, and I’m glad, because Marlena has
me really furious at her now.
Lucas/Sami/Austin/Nicole: I do not think that was a wise move
letting Lucas know about Nicole’s plan to go after High Style at all.
Yes, we know it was to make Nicole look bad if Lucas went after it
himself, but Lucas getting it for Titan could’ve easily left Austin,
Inc., or whatever he’s calling his company, out of business. And Sami
would’ve been guilt-ridden for doing that to Austin. Good thing the
CEO of High Style is someone who didn’t want to give it up. Someone
fans all remember.
Well, this is my very first time laying eyes on Carrie Brady (remember
— I started watching the show in late 2002, and the last time
Carrie was in Salem was late 1999), but I must say, she’s a very
lovely young woman. Christie Clark does an exceptional job of playing
her. So what’s her story right now? She split up from Mike Horton,
unfortunately, and is now single again. Now, she’s the CEO of High
Style in L.A. As soon as she mentioned Austin, I knew where
everything was going. I think she’s going to regain her interest in
him. I hope it doesn’t happen, but we’ll see.
Jack/Jennifer/Frankie: We saw the last of Jack (for awhile, at
least) as his car sank into the river. And when his car was finally
lifted out, he wasn’t inside. He clearly got out somehow and swam off
somewhere to die alone so he wouldn’t die of his illness in the
presence of Jennifer and Abby (who made an appearance this week, by
the way). Of course, Frankie was there to comfort Jennifer. And with
Jack now presumed dead, we all know where this is going. . . .
I don’t know what to say about their appearance this week. All I’m
going to say to Hope is THANK YOU for putting Bo in his place where
Patrick was concerned and calling him out for what he clearly is —
he’s stubborn. Of course, we all know this won’t last long,
but as long as someone’s finally pointed this out about him, I’m
fine. In other news on their front, Bo nearly drowned while diving
for search through the wreckage of Jack’s car. I knew he wouldn’t,
though. There’d be know Bope without Bo around.
Patrick/Billie: My favorite couple made an appearance together
this week. I do like that the show has finally paired them up
romantically because during their scenes at the bridge, Patrick showed
that he really would do anything for Billie as he was prepared to save
Bo for her and (absent-for-weeks) Chelsea. The complete ingratitude
he got from Bo after saving him, though, I could’ve done without.
