2005 Our Opinion!

My Opinion by Jamison
8/12/05

The weeks on this show just keep getting better and better!  So many storylines are finally unraveling, which is just what we’ve been hoping for!  Also, a new character was introduced, and a not-so-surprising revelation came about.

Brady/Chloe: Once again, we only saw Brady and Chloe for one day this week.  And might I say that I was quite impressed by Brady’s show of loyalty to Chloe.  Quitting his job as CEO of Titan just because Chloe’s worried about him marrying a monster?  That is very noble.  If this doesn’t show Chloe just how much he loves her, nothing will.

Shawn/Belle/Philip/Mimi: So because Belle is carrying what she thinks is Philip’s child, she’s officially declared her and Shawn over, although most of us know that’s probably not going to last.  In the meantime, Mimi is still ranting and raving about Belle for costing her Rex when she really cost herself Rex.  Philip suggested she try her hand at romance with Shawn, and I must admit, I was a little bit skeptical, at first.  But when I saw the flashback of Mimi asking Shawn to the dance in high school (which I’d actually seen once before then), and just how much chemistry was there, I began to open up to the possibility.  If Shawn and Mimi got together, I’d like that.  Besides, it’d make Belle extremely jealous and she just might realize she let go of something she shouldn’t have.  If that happens, then I hope it’s too late when it does because I really don’t care much for Belle anymore.

John/Marlena/Alex: I really don’t think that John going around the world to find some things to jog Marlena’s memory was necessary.  I mean, some things in Salem would’ve sufficed, right?  But enough about that.  Marlena still didn’t recognize him or Roman.  All she recognized was Alex.  Now, I’m guessing that she recognizes the guy because he’s the real Roman and that there’s something familiar about that.  But then, if Alex is the real Roman, then who is this Roman (Josh Taylor’s Roman)?

Roman/Kate: After watching the scenes that led to their estrangement, I must say I’m impressed with how they were played out.  I agree wholeheartedly with Roman’s choice to split with Kate.  She tried to hurt his daughter without a hint of remorse or regret.  Now, I got so mad when John took Kate’s side about the drugging Sami thing.  Apparently, Roman did, too, which is why he practically gave Kate to John.  Now believe me.  In the end, I want John with Marlena, and Roman with Kate.  Unless Alex turns out to be the real Roman, in which case everything would be changed, as I’d want Roman and Marlena together.  Then I’d say that John could have Kate.

Lucas/Sami: This was the happiest couple of the week, and because they were happy all week, I don’t have much to say about them.  Except I knew that Lucas would be asking for his ring back to propose to Sami again.  I guess for some sort of renewed engagement.  Loved seeing him tell off Kate at the Java Café.  (Is it just me, or did the Java Café look like what used to be Dot.Com?)  Really, it seems like Lucas and Sami’s happiness is dependent only upon Lucas not finding out that Sami was Stan, and that may not happen for quite some time.  Nicole’s the only other person who knows, but I wonder if she’s going to spill?

Bo/Hope/Tony/Bart: I put them all together because they were all in the same fold this week.  Now, the look on Tony’s face when Bo shot the camera spying on him was priceless.  Tony’s obviously losing his touch.  And Bart wearing what I think was a catcher’s uniform was hilarious!  He really wants to protect himself from Hope, whom I was glad to finally see after her kidnapping last week.  Speaking of Hope, I really hoped she’d have kept the hits on Bart coming.  As funny as he is, he deserves them for helping this psychopath.  Seriously, why is Tony still here?  There really is no purpose for him anymore.

Victor/Caroline: Seeing these two on again was like a breath of fresh air.  John Aniston (Victor) and Peggy McCay (Caroline) looked better than ever!  I loved their reunion with Hope, and I basically just love the fact that they’re on-screen once again!

Jack/Jennifer/Frankie: I was waiting for the moment when Jennifer would finally figure out that something really is up with Jack.  She’s finally seen that Jack’s pushing her to be with Frankie.  Good girl, Jennifer!  Now try and figure out why.  And seriously, Jack, this really doesn’t work for me when you continuously get all anti-Patrick even when Patrick’s nowhere near your wife.  His desperation to keep Frankie in town was all I needed to see to make up for that.  As far as his plan is concerned, I’d support a Frankie/Jennifer pairing, but only if Jack dies.  If he doesn’t, then he’s just got to be with Jennifer.

Abby/Josh: So they’ve introduced us to a new kid named Josh to be a love interest for Abby.  The kid doesn’t look half-bad on the eyes, but he does look a little dorky, too.  Funny the way Abby ended up meeting him — spilling coffee on him after ordering it.  I don’t know how long TPTB at DAYS are planning to keep him on, but for now, I don’t really care.  I’m just glad Ashley Benson (Abby) has a storyline of her own now.

Patrick/Billie: First of all, I was saying, “Well done!” to Billie when she flat-out told Kate that a reunion with Bo was not going to happen.  Let’s see if Kate finally gets the message and stops meddling in her kids’ love lives.  Look what happened because she wouldn’t stop meddling in Lucas’s.  Second of all, when Kate actually asked Billie if she was seriously considering moving on with Patrick (she did, right?), and Billie looked over at Patrick with a pretty thoughtful look on her face, I was so thrilled, because the show really is doing what I want them do by pairing up Patrick and Billie.  They’d make a great couple.  Patrick would have a solid, viable love interest and Billie would be distracted from Bo once and for all.  However, I believe this new development about Patrick might end it all.  Turns out Patrick really is still working for the DiMeras, as he captured Bo when he faced off with him on the island.  Maybe it’s a tactic just to deceive Tony and Bart again.  Maybe it isn’t.  I, for one, hope it is.  I’d hate to see Patrick and Billie’s still-budding relationship get scrapped because Patrick’s still loyal to Tony.

Next week, the rescue of Victor and Caroline finally happens!  Tony finally pays for his crimes (to some extent)!  And at long last, the question about Georgia we’ve all been wondering is finally asked: Has Chelsea been Georgia all along?

And that’s just what’s on my mind!
