Days Of Our Lives Commentary
Diedre Hall continued to give a superb performance this week!
In my opinion, she has us all on the edge of her seat, trying to
figure out why she has turned into a killer. Many theories are
floating around on the internet, but what is really going on? The
writers have promised us that this is going to be a shocker, but
for me, it has been a mixed bag. Sadness, because so many beloved
characters are gone, intrigue because I need to see where this is
going, and anger because I’m not sure I like this new direction.
All I can say is – come on John and Tek – your on the right track!
I have been quite disturbed with the way Shawn is acting. When did
he finish his training at the police academy? Yet he marches right
in, looks at evidence, and begins spouting off his own theories. I
realize both his parents are cops, and that he's picked up some
things along the way, but I just don’t see how an average citizen
can just jump right in to the middle of an investigation. Guess
they do things differently in Salem.
I was so excited at the beginning of the week, when we saw Bonnie,
and her chest was actually concealed. As I’m watching, I’m
thinking this is good – tired of seeing her exposing herself. (As
much as I love Judi Evans – I’ve seen more of her flesh than I
care to!) Then…much to my horror, but not surprise, she whips open
her blouse. Ugh! On the same note…Patrick – and all the other
young guns on the show – finding any excuse to take their shirts
off. I’m considering starting a fund to purchase shirts for all
these young men – I’ve seen their chests, and don’t need to keep
Loved Roman and Kate! I was pulling for this pairing from the
beginning, and felt that each character brought out the best in
one another. Through all their issues, they overcame, and I saw
real potential. Guess the writers didn’t share my opinion. It was
so nice to see them sharing some intimate moments.
Since Celeste was such a huge part this week, I have to say I love
Tonya! Not that I’m into all this supernatural stuff, I just
really like this character. Well, Dahlings…shall I just say that I
think she was great this week. One thing that struck me as very
odd was when she was reading the cards Thursday and Friday, and we
didn’t see a picture of Jack – only his name, nor did we see
pictures of Cassie, Tony or Doug. I’m guessing Jack, Cassie and
Tony will not be returning as ghosts. The ghost scenes are a bit
cheesy, as far as I’m concerned. I definitely don’t like seeing
Tom’s ghost, especially since he is dead in real life. I
personally find it disrespectful.
I particularly liked Julie giving Sami and Lucas relationship
advice – clearly, Julie sees the chemistry, and I say bring on
Lumi! I had to chuckle when Jennifer and Julie gave Sami her
comeuppance – poor Sami – she always seems to open her mouth, and
insert her foot. I’m sure she is very sensitive to Jennifer’s
difficult pregnancy – she just has trouble expressing herself
Last – but certainly not least – Alice. This woman is 90 years old
– and still just as beautiful as ever. While it is clear she is
declining physically, I applaud her talents, and her ability to
continue working in her “golden” years.
