Thorne: I just want to circle back. Where exactly did this belt-tightening policy come from? Because business is good, right? It's never been better, actually. So since when do we starve one line to promote another?

Ridge: That's not what I'm suggesting at all.

Ridge: Katie, what I'm saying is, that we can't lose our identity. We're not a department store. We don't sell gowns on one floor and washing machines on the other. It's not what we do. And I think we've learned, if we throw too much at the public, they won't know who we are.

Katie: Doesn't it really boil down to whose daughter is a better investment? Yours or Brooke's?
