Hope: Oliver, I don't want you feeling pressured to try and cheer me up.

Oliver: I'm not. I'm not. I-I've been meaning to show you something for a very long time. Maybe it'll make you smile or laugh, maybe call the police.

Hope: O-okay. This has to do with a story that you want to tell me?

Oliver: See, once upon a time, there was this beautiful, beautiful blond girl. I was involved with her. You'd like her -- real babe. She was into me, too, at one point. Shortly after she broke up with me, I was out late one night, and I did something I thought she'd appreciate, maybe foolish. Maybe not. But I thought that it would help me get her back.

Hope: Okay. Oh, my God! Is that --

Oliver: That is the Chinese symbol for "Hope"... ...Like the necklaces I got for us. Seemed like a great idea at the time.

Hope: Oh, Oliver.

Oliver: I've been meaning to get it removed, maybe turn it into a smiley face or a dog.

Hope: A dog?! What?

Oliver: A bunch of dogs playing poker up my leg.

Hope: No! No, you can't! No.

Oliver: I guess I could cancel that appointment to get it removed. For now. The symbol did give me hope. It did for you at one time, too. I'm just glad it made you smile.
