Caroline: I don't want to give you the wrong impression. I would love to come and volunteer here with you someday.

Rick: Well, there's no time like the present.

Caroline: Okay, it's just that I really don't like surprises. You know, you tell me that we're going to get lunch. And I've really just been looking forward to spending time with you, you know? A little romance.

Leilani: So, we're short on bussers today.

Rick: Great. We'll start there, then. I know this is not what you had in mind, but it's gonna be a great experience. You'll be glad that you did it.

Caroline: What -- what did I just step in?

Rick: Uh, looks -- ew. It's -- it's the soup. It's, uh, chili. Come on. Let's get changed. We'll clean it.

Caroline: Rick... I really don't like being blindsided, okay? I will do this with you another day. Just not right now.

Rick: Caroline. I'm sorry I made it seem like it was some romantic surprise. I promise that I'll make it up to you. Do me a favor. Look around. These people are hungry. Some of them can't pay, but they can eat. And a lot of the people that are working here, they're volunteers, just like us, because they know most of that profit's gonna go right back into the community. That's why we're here -- so we can keep Dayzee's going.

Caroline: That is really great. I'm serious. It is. But I am not dressed for this. I mean, okay, am I supposed to actually wait tables in these shoes? Would have done something different with my hair, you know. We were supposed to go get sushi, you know. And someone here has not showered in a while.

Rick: Caroline.

Caroline: Okay, look... I would love to do this with you someday. But, Rick, a little dating advice -- give a girl some advance notice.
