Steffy: I'm attracted to Oliver, and he's attracted to me. If Brooke doesn't like it, that's not my problem.

Ridge: Brooke is just trying to protect her daughter, and so am I.

Steffy: Well, it doesn't feel like you're protecting this daughter.

Ridge: But I am, though. Very much so. I just don't want another generation of rivalry in this family.

Steffy: Mom, how do you feel?

Taylor: Well, I-I understand how your father feels. I understand his point of view, and--and Brooke's.

Steffy: Okay, what about mine?

Taylor: I understand that, too. If you really have feelings for Oliver, and they're genuine, and he's not committed to hope, then I would never be the one to tell you to back off.

Steffy: Thank you.

Taylor: But I-I would tell you to be very sensitive to hope. She's a young lady, and she could get hurt very badly.

Steffy: Okay, can you please just stay out of this? I cannot protect hope from heartache. Every girl goes through it. It's a part of growing up.
