Ridge: I would hope you'd learn something.

Rick: Oh, this was supposed to be educational?

Ridge: About how much your mother loves you. If you ever had any doubts about that when you were growing up, I would think you can put that worry away.

Rick: And what are you worried about? You've had my mother's undivided attention for the better part of my life. You've gotten away with using her, abusing her, dumping her and pretty much treating her like garbage. Are you afraid that if you're not front and center with her for a while, she may remember all that?

Ridge: Rick, I'm going to assume that you're not yourself, and you're saying things you really don't mean. But I hope you understand and try to accept that Brooke and I are going to be married........ And this is just a temporary setback.

Rick: Okay. Well, at least you won't ask me to stand up for you... since that's something I'm not really gonna be able to do for quite some time.
