William deVry Almost Reprised His Role
as Storm! By
Most soap fans on social media know that if they follow
their favorite actors, they may get to ask them questions or
get an occasional Retweet or Favorite on their comments.
I've had the pleasure of interacting many times with actors
on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
One of my favorite actors is
William deVry, and he is very good to his fans on social
He also has a favorite cause, which is
rescuing dogs. He's such a great guy, and an
amazing actor, and he loves animals, too! You can donate to
which is his favorite local animal rescue. I'm sure he would
be the first to tell you, though, that any help you can
give, for any animal rescue service, would be appreciated. I
give to my local Humane Society regularly. If you can't
afford to give money, they always need volunteers, and
donations of food etc. You can also follow them on social
media and tell people about them, and remind others to help
our beloved furry friends!
deVry first appeared on soaps in 2002 when he played
Ian's friend Tim for two days on "Port
Charles." Like Ian, and his cousin Patrick Thornhart
(who had appeared on "One Life to Live,"
both roles played by
Thorsten Kaye), Tim was Irish and had a wonderful
accent, even though deVry is Canadian. He still did a great
job with the accent and was just so gorgeous. He made a real
impression in those two days! He also met his real-life
Staab (another wondeful actor, who played
Elizabeth) on PC. Lucky lady :)
Then he went on to portray Michael Cambias on "All
My Children." (This time, Thorsten Kaye
played his brother, Zach!) Michael met up with Kendall and
they hit it off right away. He just had so much charm and
charisma. Unfortunately, Michael turned out to be an
evil rapist and was murdered 7 months later by Kendall's
sister, Bianca, whom he had raped (he also tried to rape
both Kendall and their mom, Erica, as well as did some other
evil deeds like blackmail and corporate espionage).
Although fans like myself were not happy to see the charming
Michael become so irredeemably bad, it did give deVry a
chance to show off his acting chops, which he certainly did.
deVry has also appeared in many primetime shows over the
years, including the recent hit series "Nikita" and "Beauty
& The Beast" on The CW. In 2006, he joined the
cast of "The Bold & Beautiful"
Storm Logan, brother to Katie, Donna and Brooke.
Although his nickname was "Stormy" because of his hot temper
when he was younger, by the time he was played by deVry, he
was a very nice guy. He was everything that Michael Cambias
was not. (Well, aside from a brief period where he shot
Stephanie and then framed his father for it..let's just say,
he had issues!)
Storm's relationship with his sisters was very close,
since they had all grown up without their father. In 2008,
Katie accidentally shot herself when struggling with a gun
after a misunderstanding with Storm; to save her, Storm shot
himself, so that she could have his heart. In 2012,
right after Katie had given birth and almost died, she had a
vision of Storm (played again by deVry), who told her that
it wasn't her time yet and that she needed to go back to her
family (Bill and Will). (Coincidentally, Thorsten Kaye now
plays Ridge, Storm's former brother-in-law, but they never
overlapped on the show)
This past week, Katie was upset because she thinks that
her sister, Brooke, is trying to steal her husband, Bill, so
she sees a photo of Storm and talks to him about her
troubles. Storm has also been mentioned quite a few times
On Twitter, I asked deVry about B&B showing his photo and
the recent mentions. He replied, "They wanted me to come on
for two episodes. It's too bad that didn't happen."
That was great to hear, but I have to agree that it
certainly is too bad. I suppose they couldn't work it out
with his schedule on "General Hospital,"
where he now plays Julian Jerome (since 2013). It would have
been great to see Katie talking to Storm himself, rather
than just a photo (although that was a very nice photo of
You can still see deVry weekdays on GH on ABC as Julian.
Julian is a mobster, but he's also quite a nice guy most of
the time, especially when it comes to his family. He's
engaged to lawyer Alexis and has three children, Sam, Lucas,
and new baby Theo. Check it out!
