Soap Opera Spirit Awards — Who will win? Who will lose?
On Tuesday, March 9, Michael Fairman presents the
On-Air On-Soaps podcast presentation of TV Guide
Canada’s Third Annual Soap Opera Spirit Awards, which will
be co-hosted by Days/Venice stars Crystal Chappell and Galen
Gering. It will air at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET. Only 21
categories will be announced on air. All of the winners will

Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca) is replacing Vail Bloom as Heather Stevens on
Y&R. She begins taping the week of March 15.
Aiden Turner (ex-Aidan) joins the cast of ABC's
"Dancing with the Stars" beginning on Monday, March 22.
John Callahan (ex-Edmund) is returning to "Days of Our Lives" as Dr.
Richard Baker on Thursday, April 22.
Jill Larson (Opal) appears in the new Martin Scorsese
film, Shutter Island, but chances are you won't recognize
her! She plays the small, but very memorable role of
"manacled woman," which she shot in a day on the Boston set.
Colin Egglesfield (Auggie, Melrose Place; ex-Josh, AMC)
has been cast as young William Walker in a two-hour
flashback episode of "Brothers & Sisters" to air on Sunday,
April 11. Egglesfield replaces Daniel Cosgrove (Chris,
ATWT), who had a scheduling conflict. Egglesfield plays the
late senior Walker (played by Tom Skerritt in the series'
first year) and Lauren Bittner will play Nora (Sally Field)
in the 1973 and 1986 segments. Egglesfield's last airdate on
"Melrose Place" is Tuesday, March 9.
Amanda Seyfried (ex-Joni)
appears in the TV show "Big Love" also stars in the new romantic comedy "Dear
John" with Channing Tatum, out in theaters, and has many other movies coming
out, as well.
Sam Page (ex-Trey) will appear on ABC's "Desperate Housewives"
in a multi-episode arc beginning in late February as Jeremy, a cook
who develops a thing for Bree (Marcia Cross). Variety also reports that
he is joining
the cast of "Greek": "Sam Page ("Melrose Place") has signed on for a
recurring role on "Greek." The thesp has also boarded the pic
"Answer to Nothing" and was most recently seen on "Mad Men" as Joan
Holloway's husband, Greg. "
Four stars of AMC will appear in the March issue of
"Los Angeles Magazine" in a
special 8-page spread wearing the hottest spring fashions.
